USCAA Honors Seven Lady Eagles!!!!!!!
The United States Collegiate Athletic Association recently announced its All-Americans and Academic All-Americans at the USCAA National Soccer Championships in Connecticut held last week. Five members of the Robert Morris Lake County Women's Soccer Team earned All-American Academic status.  Both Gema Mariscal (Sr.-Round Lake) and Ana Reyes (Sr.-Waukegan) were repeat recipients of this honor while Nancy Manjarrez (Sr.-Waukegan), Natalie Tabaka (So.-Lake Zurich) and Linda Alvarez (Jr.-Waukegan) were first time honorees.  Krystle Guzman (Sr.-Gurnee) earned her second Honorable Mention All-American status and was joined by teammate Maribel Jimenez (Fr.-Round Lake Beach) with this distinction.  The Lady Eagles Soccer Team finished their season with a 6-7 record and just missed a bid to attend the USCAA National Championships.  Pictured below are the recipients of the USCAA awards.

Tabaka Sisters Help Eagles Roll Over RMC Chicago Reserves!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Natalie TabakaLed by the goaltending of Natalie Tabaka (at left) and Sylvia Tabaka 2 goals by Sylvia Tabaka (at right), the RMC Lady Eagles of Lake County pummeled their sister school RMC Chicago Reserve 5-0 on Thursday at Dugdale Park to complete the 2008 season with a 6-7 record.  Robert Morris Lake County controlled the game from start to finish applying constant pressure on the RMC Chicago defense.  Contributors to the scoring for the Eagles also included Isamar Serrato 1 goal, Patty Velazquez 1 goal, Gema Mariscal 1 goal and 1 assist, Krsytle Guzman 3 assists and Maribel Jimenez 1 assist.  Natalie Tabaka recorded her 3rd shutout of the 2008 campaign.  This was the final collegiate performance for seniors Nancy Manjerrez, Ana Reyes, Krystle Guzman and Gema Mariscal who represented RMC over the past 4 years with dignity and class.  All of the seniors will complete either their undergraduate or graduate degrees this spring.  They are pictured below.

Lady Eagles Run Out of Gas at Concordia!
Marcela AmaroThe RMC Women's Soccer Team had a tough night at Concordia University on Monday losing 6-1.  The Eagles had a number of scoring opportunities early in the contest, but came away empty handed.  Concordia capitalized on a few RMC defensive miscues to build an insurmountable lead that they would never relinquish.  Marcela Amaro (at left) scored the lone goal for Robert Morris late in the contest by redirecting in a shot by Maribel Jimenez.  The Lady Eagles will host RMC Chicago (Reserve) on Thursday at Dugdale Park for their final contest of the fall.









Kickers Lose Heartbreaker to CLC!
Playing yet another solid game, the Robert Morris Lady Eagle Soccer Team fought Nancy Manjarrezto the very end only to lose to the College of Lake County 1-0 on a breakaway goal in the last few minutes of the contest. The Eagles traded quality scoring opportunities with the host Lancers for the Bridget Alvarezmajority of the game only to come up empty on the scoreboard.  Though RMC did not notch a victory, Coach Farr indicated that the Eagles played one of their best games of the season.  Natalie Tabaka had another excellent game in goal and was backed up some solid defensive play by Nancy Manjerrez (pictured right), Bridget Alvarez (at left) and Dulce Ortiz (pictured below).   RMC's record drops to 5-6 for the season with the Lady Eagles traveling to Concordia U. on Monday Oct. 13 for their next competition.

Lady Eagles Victorious Over Mt. Mary!!!!
The RMC Women's Soccer Team continued its solid play this past month with an Maribel Jimenezimpressive 5-0 win over Mt. Mary College.  The Lady Joanne MariscalKickers applied constant pressure throughout the game with Krystle Guzman and Maribel Jimenez  leading the way with 2 goals apiece.  Jimenez (pictured right) also added an assist on Joanna Mariscal's (pictured left) goal to complete the scoring.  In addition, Natalie Tabaka recorded her second shutout of the year as RMC evened its record at 5-5.  The Lady Eagles will next take on the Lancers of the College of Lake County on Thursday Oct. 9 in Grayslake.





Kickers Lose Tough Rematch With Trinity International!!
RMC Women's SoccerAfter being shutout 15-0 just 2 weeks ago by Trinity Int'l, the Lady Eagles bounced back to play an excellent game while eventually falling 5-2 on Monday at Dugdale Park in Waukegan.  RMC was led by Maribel Jimenez (1 goal and 1 assist) and Krystle Guzman (1 goal).  Also figuring in the scoring for the Eagles with an assist was Gema Mariscal.  Trinity finally pulled away from Robert Morris in the last 25 minutes of the game after a valiant fight put up by the Lady Kickers.  RMC will next host Mt. Mary College on Wednesday at Dugdale Park.






Jimenez Scores Hat Trick for Eagles in Finlandia Victory!!!!

(Fr.-Round Lake, IL) scored three goals and added an assist against Finlandia U. in the Michigan U.P. to lead the Robert Morris Eagles to a 6-2 win on Saturday October 4.  Jimenez (pictured right) had plenty of support with Gema Mariscal (2 goals,1 assist), Sylvia Tabaka (1 goal) and Krystle Guzman (3 assists) all adding to the offensive explosion. The Eagles improved their record to 4-5 for the season with home games coming up Monday Oct. 6 and Wednesday Oct. 8 against Trinity U. and Mt. Mary.  All home games are played at Dugdale Park in Waukegan, IL.








Eagles Lose Tough Battle to Eureka!
Gema MariscalThe Lady Eagles Kickers lost a tightly played contest at Eureka College on Saturday Sept. 27 by a 5-2 margin.  RMC was just coming off one of their best played games of the year in a win over Concordia College on Wednesday and continued their solid play on Saturday only to fall short in the scoring column.  Saturday marked the return of All-American Gema Mariscal from a severe knee injury which has sidelined her since the opening game of the season.  Mariscal (at left) notched a goal along with another from fellow senior Krystle Guzman to account for the Eagles' scoring.  With the loss, RMC's record dropped to 3-5 for the season.  RMC will travel to Triton on Monday Sept 29 and Finlandia U. on Saturday Oct. 4 for their next competitions.


Guzman Stellar In Win Over Concordia!!!
After suffering a couple of tough defeats to UW Whitewater and Trinity International, Krystle Guzmanthe Robert Morris Lady Eagles Soccer Team were victorious over Concordia U. 3-1 in a rescheduled game due to monsoonal weather conditions over the last few weeks.  Krystle Guzman (Sr.-Gurnee, pictured right) had a hand in all the scoring by adding 2 goals and an assist to lead the Eagles to their 3rd victory of the year against 4 defeats.  Guzman assisted Bridget Alvarez (So. - Waukegan) on her goal and also received support from Maribel Jimenez (Fr. - Round Lake) with an assist.  Robert Morris will travel to Eureka College on Saturday for their next contest.








Lady Kickers Open 2008 Season Successfully!!
The Robert Morris Eagles Lady Eagles Soccer Team (Lake County) opened up itsNatalie Tabaka 2008 season with two very impressive wins in Milwaukee, WI over Labor Day weekend.  RMC defeated Mt. Mary on Friday 5-0 and Finlandia 6-1 on Saturday. Krystle Guzman (Sr.-Gurnee, pictured below) and Maribel Jimenez provided the majority of the scoring punch while Natalie Tabaka (So.-Lake Zurich/pictured right) played well in goal for the Eagles.  Wednesday Sept. 3 saw the Eagles drop a 5-1 decision to visiting Alverno College. The Lady Eagles then traveled to its sister school this past weekend and suffered defeats to RMC Springfield 6-0 and Delta State U. 10-0.  On Wednesday Sept. 9 RMC lost a JV game to Carthage College 7-0 at Dugdale Park, Waukegan.  The Eagles record stands at 2-3 through the 1st 3 weeks of the season.  All-American Gema Mariscal (Sr.-Round Lake) is expected to return within the next few weeks after suffering a severe knee injury in the 1st scrimmage game of the season with Oakton CC.  Robert Morris will host Concordia College on Monday Sept. 15 at Dugdale Park at 4:00 PM.Krystle Guzman

Lady Eagles Finish Season On High Note!!!!
Gema MariscalAfter playing sister school RMC Springfield tough on Saturday in losing 3-1, the Lady Eagle Kickers from RMC Lake County defeated another sister school RMC ChicagoSam Reed JV 3-1 on Tuesday to close out the 2007 season.   Gema Mariscal (at left) and Sam Reed (at right) led the Eagles in both games with Mariscal scoring the lone goal in Sat's loss on an assist by Reed.  In the victory over RMCC JV Mariscal recorded 2 goals while Reed added another to bring RMC Lake County's final record to 4-12.   USCAA All-American and Academic All-American announcements will be made at the National Soccer Championships in Rochester Hills, MI next week.

return to the lineup after sitting out a good portion of the season with a nagging injury provided RMC with some explosive energy to defeat Mt. Mary College 5-2 in Milwaukee, WI on Wednesday nite.  Reed (at left) scored 3 goals and teammate Gema Mariscal added 2 more goals in the decisive win.  Krystle Guzman tallied 2 assists in addition to contributions from Dulce Ortiz (1 assist) and Sandra Fajardo (1 assist).  The Lady Eagles improved their record to 3-7 and will entertain Northland Bible Baptist College Friday evening 4:00 PM at the Serbian Soccer Complex.

(pictured right) was named USCAA Women's Soccer Player of theGema Mariscal week for guiding her team to 2 victories over Mt. Mary College on Monday Sept. 17 (3-0) and Finlandia University on Saturday Sept. 22 (4-2).  Mariscal scored 4 goals and 2 assists in the contests to help her team record their 1st and 2nd victories of the season.  The Eagles are looking to finish the season on a high note and get another bid back to the USCAA National Soccer Championships in November.  The RMC Kickers will travel to Mt. Mary College in Milwaukee, WI on Wednesday Oct. 3 for their next competition.

Krystle GuzmanThe Lady Eagles Soccer Team lost at Alverno College Friday 4-2 in a well played contest.  RMC is still bothered by a number of injuries, but still managed to put up on a solid performance.  Krystle Guzman (pictured at left) scored both goals in defeat on beautiful assists from Sandra Fajardo and Linda Alvarez.  RMC will be at home Monday September 10 to take on Carthage College at the Serbian Soccer Complex.











Kickers Struggle With Key Injuries!
Playing without Krystle Guzman, Nancy Manjarrez, and most recently GemaSam Reed Mariscal due to injuries, the RMC Eagles have run into some tough luck as of late.  Because of torrential rains in Northern Illinois these past weeks, the game with RMC Springfield was moved at the last moment to Springfield.  RMC Lake County lost 10-0 in that contest.  The Lady Eagles did manage to bounce back and play a very solid game against Concordia U. only to lose 2-1.   Sam Reed (at right) scored on a breakaway from a header pass from Krytsle Love.  The RMC record is now 0-3 as the Lady Eagles will travel to Alverno Sept 6.









Lady Eagles Open 2007 Campaign!!
Krystle GuzmanThe RMC Lady Eagle Soccer Team opened up its 2007 season with an exhibition scrimmage againstGema Mariscal the University of St. Francis Saints at the Serbian Soccer Complex.   The Eagles lost the the opener by a 7-1 margin but were led by Krystle Guzman's (at left) header goal on an assist from Gema Mariscal (at right).  RMC placed 6th in the USCAA National Championships in 2006 and are looking forward to another successful season.  The Eagles are coached again by Eric Farr and assisted by Rena Lettsome.  RMC will travel to Fondulac, WI this Wednesday Aug 22 to take on Marian College for their next opponent.



RMC Kickers Place 6th at Nationals!!!!!!!!!
Gema MariscalIn only their 2nd year of competition in the USCAA the RMC Lady Eagle Soccer Team from Lake County managed to finish 6th in the National Finals this past weekend in Rochester, MI.  The Eagles lost the opening round game to its sister school RMC Springfield by a 4-0Krystle Guzman margin.  In the 5th place game against Warren Wilson College the Eagles lost in a tightly played 3-1 contest.  Gema Mariscal scored the lone RMC goal with an assist from Sam Reed.  The Eagle Kickers finished the 2006 season at 7-9 after winning just 1 contest in its inaugural 2005 campaign. Congratulations to the coaching staff and the entire Lady Eagle Soccer Team for a tremendous turnaround and a very bright future ahead.  Also congratulations to Gema Mariscal (pictured left)  for being named USCAA All-American for the 2006 season.  Gema scored 20 goals and had 12 assists to finish second in scoring in the nation to teammate Krystle Guzman (21 goals and 12 assists).  Also, congratulations to Krystle (pictured right) for being named Honorable Mention USCAA All-American for the 2006 season.  


Eagles Have Tough Time at RMC Springfield
Gema MariscalIn what was a preview of the 1st round game at the USCAA National Soccer Finals in less than 2 weeks, the RMC Lady Eagles Soccer Team (Lake County) took it on the chin in Springfield 6-1 this past Saturday.  Gema Mariscal(at left ) scored the lone goal for the Eagles.  Unfortunately for Gema and the Eagles, Gema sustained both an ankle and rib injuries in the contest.  Her status for the National Finals is not known at this time.  The Lady Eagles will go back to work this evening to see if they can solve the RMC Springfield puzzle before their return engagement next Thursday in Rochester, MI.

 






Kickers Pound RMC Chicago JV !!!!!!!!!!!
After getting the news that they were heading to the National Finals in 2 weeks, the RMC Lake County Lady Eagles Soccer Team did some early celebrating Elizabeth-Krystle-Samwith a shellacking of RMC Chicago Junior Varsity 15-0 at the Serbian Soccer Complex Thursday.  The Eagles scored early and often in the contest when Elizabeth Miranda (pictured at right with teammates Krystle Guzman and Sam Reed) opened up the scoring with what proved to be the game winner.  Gema Mariscal (pictured below with Lisbeth Villa) and Krystle Guzman both had monster games for RMC scoring 6 goals/2 assists and 4 goals/6 assists respectively.  Other contributors to the Eagles total domination included Sam Reed 1goal/1 assist, Melissa Fritts 1 goal/1 assist, Lisbeth Villa 1 goal/ 1 assist, Amber Trink 1 goal, Nancy Manjarrez 1 assist, Adrianna Hernandez 1assist, and Dulce Ortiz 1 saved penalty kick.   RMC's record now stands at 7-6 for the season with one more tuneup at RMC Springfield this Saturday before they start preparation for the National Finals.

Lady Eagles Going to Nationals!!!!!
On Wednesday the RMC Lake County Lady Eagles Soccer Team accepted a bid to participate in the USCAA National Soccer Championships.  The Women's Soccer Team will join the Men's Lake County Soccer Team who also recently qualified for the National Finals.  The Lady Kickers are in only their 3rd year of existence.  Congratulations to Coaches Farr and Lettsome and the whole team on their accomplishment!  The Soccer Championships will be played in Rochester, MI  Nov. 2-4 with RMC Lake County matched against RMC Springfield.

Kickers Bounce Back at Oakton!!!
After struggling somewhat in their last 3 contests, the RMC Lady Eagles Soccer Team defeated Oakton C.C. 3-1 on Monday night.  The Eagles were led by Krystle Guzman with 3 goals (18 for the season) and Sam Reed (both pictured below)  with 3 assists.  The victory gives RMC a 6-6 record to date with a home contest against RMC (Chicago) JV scheduled for Thursday night at the Serbian Soccer Complex.

Eagles Struggle at UW Whitewater/Carthage
On Thursday the RMC Lady Kickers traveled to Whitewater, WI to take on UW Whitewater.  The Eagles were defeated 6-2 despite 2 goals by Gema Mariscal and an assist from Melissa Fritts (both pictured below).

On Saturday the Eagles traveled to Carthage and were soundly defeated 10-0. 
Despite giving up 10 goals,  Melissa Martinez (pictured below) stopped 28 Carthage shots!!!  RMC's record dropped to 5-6 for the season and will travel to Oakton on Monday.

RMC Defeated by Trinity International
The Lady Eagles Soccer Team had a tough time at home Thursday night losing to Trinity International 9-1.  The Eagles played without two of their top performers Sam Reed and Gema Mariscal due to injury.  Krystle Guzman managed to score the lone goal for the Eagles which dropped their record to 5-4 for the season.  RMC will travel Thursday to UW Whitewater for their next contest.

Playing another solid game in route to their 5th victory of the year against 3 defeats, the RMC Lady Eagles Soccer Team steamrolled past visiting Mount Mary by a 7-0 margin.  Leading the assault for Robert Morris was Krystle Guzman scoring 3 goals!!!!  She received plenty of support from teammates Gema Mariscal (3 goals) and Liz Villa (1 goal).  Both Melissa Martinez and Dulce Ortiz (pictured lower right) shared the shutout in goal.  The Eagles will entertain Trinity Int. Eagles Fall to Northland Baptist

After winning its last 3 games, the RMC Lady Eagles Soccer Team lost a hard fought 4-2 contest with visiting Northland Baptist U. at the Serbian Soccer Complex Thursday evening.  Gema Mariscal  continued her superlative play with 2 goals including a header off a corner kick by Krystle Guzman.   It was scoreless at the end of the 1st half before the barrage of scoring took place between the two teams in the 2nd half.  The loss left RMC's record at 4-3 with their next opponent Mount Mary this Wednesday at the Serbian Soccer Complex.

Sam ReedThe Lady Eagles Soccer Team won its 3rd consecutive game Monday night in trouncing Mount Mary College (Milwaukee, WI) by a score of 11-0.  Sam Reed  put on a stellar performance scoring 5 goals!  She had plenty of support from Gema Mariscal with 3 goals, Krystle Guzman 2 goals, and Liz Villa  adding 1 goal.  Melissa Martinez  got her 2nd consecutive shutout in goal.  The Lady Kickers record improved to 4-2 and will host Harper Jr. College at the Serbian Soccer complex this Wednesday.

RMC Women's Soccer posted an impressive 7-0 trouncing of Finlandia U. on Sat at the Serbian Soccer Complex to up their season record to 3-2.  Krystle Guzman had a stellar game for the Eagles placing 4 balls past the Finlandia goaltender.  Sam Reed  also an an excellent game for RMC scoring 2 goals and 3 assists. Gema Mariscal added 1 goal and 1 assist.  Both Lizabeth Villa (2 assists) and  Elizabeth Miranda (1 assist) played solid games for the Eagles.  Melissa Martinez also played well, pitching her 1st shut out in goal.  RMC will travel tonite to taken on Mount Mary in Milwaukee, WI.

After being outplayed Friday night in a 10-0 loss at Trinity Int'l, the Lady Eagle Soccer Team bounced back with a solid performance on Saturday to beat Northland Baptist on the road 4-2.  Leading the way for RMC were Sam Reed and Krystle Guzman scoring 2 goals apiece to even the Lady Kickers record at 2-2 for the season.  RMC will travel to UW Whitewater on Wednesday this week for their next action.


RMC Lake County Loses Hard Fought Contest to RMC Springfield
The Lady Eagles Soccer Team from Lake County hung with its sister school from Springfield up until the last 15 minutes of the game when Springfield scored 4 unanswered goals to break the game open.  The contest was tied at 1-1 when Gema Mariscal kicked a bullet past the Springfield goalie on a nice assist from Krystle Guzman at the 10 minute mark of the 2nd half.  Several outstanding defensive plays by Lake County kept the score knotted until Springfield scored on 2 late breakaways.  The final outcome was 5-1 Springfield.  RMC Lake County will next take on Carthage Tuesday Sept 12 at the Serbian Soccer Complex.

 

Lady Kickers Open 2006 Season With 3-2 Win over Oakton!!!!
The RMC Lady Eagle Soccer Team began its 2nd season as a member of the USCAA small college division with a solid performance, defeating Oakton Community College 3-2 on Thursday evening at the Serbian Soccer Complex.  The Eagles were in firm control from start to finish leading 2-1 at the half on 2 goals by Krystle Guzman.  Gema Mariscal put the Eagles up 3-1 before a late goal by Oakton finished the scoring at 3-2.  RMC will be off until Sunday August 27 when they host RMC(Springfield) at home at 11:00 AM.

Women's Soccer Begins
Women's Soccer practice begins on Monday Aug 1 from 4:30 - 6:30 at the Serbian Soccer Complex in Lindenhurst. Physicals for all Lake County Athletes are Friday July 29 at the RMC Lake County Campus in room 128 from 1 - 4 PM.

Lady Eagles Get 1st Win
After 6 straight losses, the Lady Eagles Soccer Team gained their 1st victory ever for Robert Morris College. RMC won 3-2 over Indiana Tech JV on Saturday with Cecilia Lara, Elizabeth Ramirez and Monia Lin leading the way with goals. The game according to Coach Farr was really won on defense behind the play of sweeper Gina Orlando and her backrow mates Liz Villa, Cruz Maldonado, Nancy Flores, Melissa Fritts, and Liliana Solls. The Lady Eagles will next take on Harper on Tues at the Serbian Complex.

RMC Plays tough 1st Contest
RMC Lady Eagles Soccer played its 1st game ever for the Lake County based team losing a hard fought 1-0 game to Harper College. The score was tied until the last 4 minutes when Harper pushed across the winning goal. Melissa Fritz, Lizbeth Villa, and Nancy Flora performed well for the Lady Eagles. RMC will travel to take on Trinity Tues Sept 7.

Women's Soccer practices will begin on Mon Aug 2 thru Weds Aug 4 from 4:30-6:30 PM.
All practices will be held at the Serbian Brothers Soccer Sports Complex.

Robert Morris College is pleased to announce the addition of Eric Farr to their coaching staff in Lake County. Eric will coach the Women's Soccer Team at the Lake County Campus for the fall 2004 season. The Lady Eagles will play their home games at:
